# Gibson

> Gibson is a governance layer for employee-built, AI-built applications. Employees build with their preferred coding agent; Gibson enforces the organization's security, identity and deployment policies before anything is deployed, and keeps enforcing them in operation. Internal, secure, and in your cloud.

## The problem

Every employee can now build software with AI coding agents. A sales manager builds a tool over the weekend that connects to the CRM and prioritizes deals. It works, the team loves it, and they want to use it today. But nobody knows where the customer data goes, how the app is deployed, or whether it meets security policy. One useful weekend project has become a business application, and next quarter there could be hundreds.

Without a governed deployment process, employee-built applications can lead to:

- **Data exposure:** sensitive company data may be stored in external databases or sent to unapproved services.
- **Unrestricted access:** API credentials may grant more access than needed.
- **Unknown infrastructure:** apps may run in personal accounts or unapproved environments, outside corporate monitoring.
- **No operational ownership:** if the creator leaves, there may be no owner, maintenance process or recovery plan.

## What Gibson does

Let them build. You set the rules. Gibson enforces your security, identity and deployment policies automatically, bringing AI-built applications into your existing enterprise framework.

- **Enforce your security policies:** automatically apply identity, data access and deployment policies.
- **Govern the full lifecycle:** from first deployment to ongoing operations.
- **Enable innovation at scale:** give employees a secure path to turn their ideas into real business tools.

Policy areas covered: security policies, identity and permissions, deployment and operations, monitoring and audit trail.

## How it works

1. Set the policy once.
2. Agents get it before they build.
3. Gibson checks it again before anything deploys.

Gibson is not an agent. It is the system your agents ask for the rules.

## Works with any coding agent

Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or any other AI coding agent or development tool. Gibson provides a governed path from idea to production.

## Internal by design. Bring your own cloud.

Gibson runs in your environment: AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure or a private cloud. Your data stays in your infrastructure and you keep full control.

- Deployed in your account or environment
- Fits your existing security and compliance
- No vendor data storage
- Support for multi-cloud and hybrid setups
